Surgery Funding Options – Surgery Payment Plan for Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery

Find out about surgery payments and other options for funding your upcoming surgery with Dr Carmen Munteanu – Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Melbourne VIC.

Payment Information and Options at Dr Carmen’s Practice

At Aesthetik Profile, we understand that planning for surgery includes considering the financial aspect. While we do not provide in-house financing, we aim to help patients understand the range of payment options that may be available to them:

  • Upfront Payment: Some patients prefer to settle the full amount prior to surgery. This is often the most direct option. But may not be a viable option for many individuals.
  • Structured Payment: In some instances, patients may be able to make payments in advance over a period of time before their procedure.
  • Medical Financing: External medical financing companies offer loans for eligible patients. These options are independent of our clinic, and any decision to use such services should be made after thorough research.
  • Superannuation Access: In certain cases, patients may be eligible to apply for early access to superannuation on compassionate grounds for specific procedures. This process involves strict government criteria and requires approval through the appropriate regulatory channels.

Important Note

Dr Carmen Munteanu and her team do not endorse or recommend patients access superannuation or use third-party financing to fund surgery. Patients must assess their own financial situation and obligations and we strongly urge patients to seek independent advice from a qualified financial adviser before proceeding with any financial commitments.

Medicare and Private Health Insurance

Cosmetic procedures are generally not eligible for rebates through Medicare or private health insurance. However, some reconstructive or medically necessary surgeries may qualify, including:

  • Procedures following trauma, injury, or cancer
  • Surgeries to alleviate congenital differences
  • Operations addressing functional impairments that meet criteria in the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)

Eligibility varies by procedure and should be discussed during your consultation with Dr Carmen, who can advise whether a referral or supporting documentation may be required for assessment.

Consultation Fees

Initial consultations with Dr Carmen attract a fee, which covers a comprehensive medical assessment and discussion of your surgical options. This fee is payable at the time of booking and will be communicated clearly during the enquiry process.
