How to take photos for a complimentary photo assessment by Dr Carmen

TIPS for the Photographer

Find a friend or partner to take your photos. It can be difficult to capture accurate photos of your potential surgery area/s when taking the photos yourself.

The Photos

Photos taken by your friend or partner should include a:

  • Front view
  • Side on view both sides
  • 45-degree angle both sides

Photos should be taken at a distance of approximately 1.5-2 metres.

Background and Lighting

Photos should be taken against a plain wall with an uncluttered background with as much light as possible (use as many open windows and artificial lighting as you can).

Photos taken on a smart phone or modern camera will usually be okay.

Please do not use portrait mode. Make sure the entire photo is in focus.

Sending Your Photos

Be sure not to compress or edit your images. This can often cause photos to blur.
Please send original, high resolution photos only.
