Sun Protection and regular skin checks help minimise your risk of skin cancer

National Skin Cancer Action Week is approaching (17-23 November 2019). We at Aesthetik Profile would like to remind you of the importance of sun protection and regular skin cancer checks.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Australia and everyone is at risk. With 2 in 3 Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70, it is never too late to start improving your sun-safe habits to help decrease your risk of cancer. Most skin cancers are preventable, so effective sun protection could potentially save your life.

The Cancer Council recommends 5 steps of effective sun protection:

  1. Slip on sun protective clothing
  2. Slop on SPF 30+ or higher, broad-spectrum and water resistant sunscreen
  3. Slap on a hat
  4. Seek shade
  5. Slide on sunglasses

Take action now! Get your skin checked and remember to follow the 5 steps of effective sun protection.
